Food scene

There are many fabulous restaurants along the 4020- both local and at the three resorts. You can walk to Krua Chom Wan Restaurant, one of our favourites, along the beach- simply turn left at the bottom of the steps and walk for around 10 minutes. It is usually only open on weekends.

Beautiful setting, great food. If we are here on Christmas Day,or a birthday, this is where we head to celebrate. We usually bring a few bottles of their wine home with us too!

Sit outside with your feet in the sand and enjoy a Thai restaurant meal at this resort. Also does massages and cocktails. Right net to Vartika (separated by a temple) again approx 3kms down the 4020, and you can walk there along the beach if you like.

Cited for its location in the protective realm of Sam Roi Yod National Park, the Phraya Nakhon Cave has regularly been earmarked as attraction worth visiting. A steep climb and short boat trip will bring visitors to the vastness of this cavern system and the Phra Thinang Khuha Kharuehat, a pavilion constructed during the reign of King Rama V in 1890. A natural sinkhole provides dramatic light scenes during certain moments of the day, bathing this pavilion in natural sunlight. This distinctive pavilion is now used as the symbol of the Prachuab Khiri Khan Province. Best to google for latest info on accessibility

Welcome to Sunrise Villa

We hope that you have a wonderful stay and that your holiday with us is perfect. Below are a few ‘house hacks’ that will help you get the most out of your stay. Firstly, it is important to know that this is our home that we love to share. It is not a resort or hotel with perfect on-site maintenance, facilities or staff. We do not live in Thailand, so making arrangements for any repairs may not be immediate, especially as tradespeople need to come from Hua Hin.

On arrival:

• The bathroom taps and showers may need to run for a minute or two to flush through the water that has been sitting in the pipes. The internet password is 032820176. The name is “SANDA”. The outdoor furniture and BBQ are stored inside, please put them out as you wish and bring them back in on your departure.

• The downstairs hot water takes ages to come through, so in the interests of conservation, we boil the jug for hot water when doing the dishes. • For similar reasons, we use a tub to do our dishes in. If one is not in the sink ready for you, they are located on the laundry rack. Again, in the interests of conservation, dish/rinsing water etc can be thrown on the garden- especially in the dry season! Barbeque: You are welcome to use the BBQ. Please clean after use. The BBQ utensils are in the laundry. Home Pro sells charcoal.

Coconuts: If a coconut falls, please enjoy it. Be warned that coconut can drop at any time, so please exercise caution when walking under the coconut palm. Groceries: Kui Buri has a small Lotus. Pranburi and Pratchuapkhirikhan both have large Lotus stores. Furniture: Please do not move the furniture around. The table on the lawn is a great example- moved by guests (must have been a lot of them) and too heavy for us to move back into position! Massages: All three resorts on the 1020 (Turn right out of our little street) offer massages and spa treatments. You will need to make a reservation.

Monkeys They look cute but please do not feed them or encourage them onto the property in any way. Please ensure the door to the roof is closed at all times, and if you open the windows, ensure that the insect screens are down (there is a bent blue coat hanger in each wardrobe upstairs for this purpose). They will leave if you shoo them away and are not generally aggressive. If you do happen to get bitten, please seek immediate medical help.

Pool: The housekeeper, Khun Si, takes care of the pool. If there are any problems with it during your stay, please let her know. • Please ensure that toddlers and babies wear swim diapers. • Please only use the acrylic stemware and glasses around the pool. • Do not throw the white stones into the pool as they can damage the tiles. Roof: There are sunbeds on the roof. On your departure, please ensure that the backs are laying down flat and the cushions are returned to the second floor landing.

Safe: This is located in the master bedroom. Please leave unlocked and open on your departure. If it is not working, there is a drawer with a lock downstairs by the front door. Security: Please ensure that you lock the villa and close the windows when you leave the villa during your stay. While we have never had a problem with security, we also do not take chances!

Staff: Khun Si is here most days and knows how to deal with any issues or problems that you may have. She does not speak much English, so you may have to show her any problems. Khun Nikholm is the night guard usually here from 7pm- 7am. You may see him walking around with a torch and he usually waters the garden in the early morning.

Water: We use tap water for everything except drinking. You can either buy bottled water or use the village dispenser, which is cheap and safe. This costs 1THB per litre. The dispensing machine is located on the 4020. Just go to the main road, turn left and the water dispenser is located almost immediately on the right hand side of the road. There are also a couple of washing machines next to it. There are plenty of empty water bottles in the entrance way or laundry you can take to fill up.
