A 138 ft. Town lattice with Arch bridge, Benetka was built about 1900 spanning the Ashtabula River. It was renovated in 1985 when a laminated arch 9 in. wide, 38 in. thick, the length of the bridge was added.

With clear width of 30 ft. and height of 14 ft 6 in. it will support full legal load traffic and has a life expectancy of 100 years.

Engineering and structural design by John Smolen (former County Engineer) and architectural design by Timothy Martin (current County Engineer) the bridge was dedicated August 26, 2008. The bridge is 613 ft. long and stands 93 ft. above the Ashtabula River. With clear width of 30 ft. and height of 14 ft 6 in. it will support full legal load traffic and has a life expectancy of 100 years.
It is a beautiful well maintained and manicured 54 acre park on the shores of Lake Erie. It is an ideal spot for families to enjoy the outdoors and it brings many visitors to the area.
Lakeshore Park offers visitors many activities and amenities. A fenced in playground is available for children to enjoy a safe area under the watchful eye of parents and guardians. Horseshoe pits and volleyball courts are available as are bocce courts where local teams practice and play. A classic car show is held every Sunday through the summer and is one of the most popular in Northeast Ohio bringing dozens of great classic cars to the shores of Lake Erie each week. An 18 hole disc golf course can be used year round and is considered one of the most challenging that can be found. A large beach is also right on the shores of Lake Erie with lifeguards through the summer. Five pavilions are available with fabulous views for every type of family outing. A waterfowl pond offers visitors a chance to view beautiful white mute swans and a variety of mallard and other ducks. A pair of peacocks can also be seen.
A public boat launch is available for the anglers and pleasure boaters and jet skiers. It has access right on the shore of Lake Erie. A bait shop is also there to handle all your fishing needs

cross country skiing-A brief word of explanation: Although its formal name is “The Western Reserve Greenway,” it is also loosely referred to as the Trail, or the Greenway, or the Greenway Trail. By any name, it is a great place to walk, run, stroll, hike, bike, roller blade, and ski.
The Western Reserve Greenway is a paved rail-trail extending 44 miles through Ashtabula and Trumbull counties in northeast Ohio. Ashtabula County is home to 27 of these miles, stretching from the city of Ashtabula southward to the county line where it continues for 17 miles into Trumbull County.
Mostly rural, Ashtabula County’s portion of the trail runs along farms and through abundant wooded areas. Many users tout the beauty of the thick tree canopy providing cool shade on hot summer days.
The trail is nicely maintained by a dedicated crew of volunteers, the trail is dotted with benches, intersecting road names and mileage markers, 12 interpretive signs along the way detail the proud history of the Underground Railroad in Ashtabula County.

Stop by if you want to join in the following week (but empty spots are heavily contested). There are now 2 dedicated PB courts and 2 using the tennis courts.
