A popular location is at the dam where you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset walk or go down for free access to the water. Comal Park is around the corner from the Lake loft and is a $10 for full day access. If you come on the weekends, expect it to be busy and get there early! Beautiful park with beach access, BBQ pits, playground and miles of shoreline.

For a beautiful and slow (15-20mph) drive meandering along the river, take a drive up and down river road. Mind the speed limit, or the Sheriff will ensure you do.

On the water or river
Water shoes are recommended because flip flops get lost easily. Bring your own reusable insulated cup as bottles and cans aren’t allowed. Children 12 and under must have a life vest when on the water.
Transporte
Don’t expect to get city slicker services out this way.
Fast delivered service like grubhub or instacart aren’t always that fast or reliable. Do your shopping at H‑E‑B before driving up here. Locally we have Lowe’s Market and good ‘ole Dollar General for items you forget.
