Whiskeytown Lake is a beautiful place! The shoreline varies with each beach around it. My favorite is east beach and the secret unnamed little spots. :) Brandy Creek is great too and Oak Bottom. Oak bottom has paddle board for rent, seasonally. They say you need a pass to enter. You can look into more info on that here: https://www.visitcalifornia.com/experience/whiskeytown-lake/ I have a pass but I have never been checked. :)

A fabulous not to hard hike
The overlook is ok… but climb around in the rocks and adventure to a place by the water. It’s a lovely place to explore in any season or cool off during the summer!

The View! Yes, it's in the name for a reason. The view is stunning. The happy hour is fabulous prices. :) But normal dining is tasty as well. I really like the beef tacos & cheese board form the happy hour menu.

Very good burgers. I don't like beer but I think they have a great beer selection as well. :) The garlic fries are a little too much garlic for me. Just a side note.

I don't love coffee, haha! :) But People who do like coffee like this place. I LOVE their breakfast sandwich here and there is the pastry that is incredible... I don't know how to spell it but it sounds like this: "Queen Aman". It looks like a muffin but is flakey like a croissant. Very tasty.

This place has pretty good food (i like the pizza and pancakes on weekend brunch) but really good atmosphere. You could also pair going here with a walk across the sundial bridge.

Directions to Sacramento River Walking Trail
Out of the driveway walk left down the hill to the end of the road. Continue onto the trail. Go left down the steps and wind over Jenny Creek and down to the Sacramento River trail. Once on the path: GO left for lots of trails, mountain views and beauty or right for a shorter walk to the parking lot. To the right is downtown and a park.
