This park is just a 15 minute drive from the house. Here you can view massive trees (600-year-old Douglas fir and western red cedar trees), waterfalls, animals and a beautiful river. The trails range from easy and wheelchair accessible, to strenuous. If you like a good work out, I recommend hiking Mt Finlayson. It's very steep, but you'll find rewarding views of greater Victoria at the top.

Beside the Castle is Hatley gardens which include the Rose Garden, the Italian Garden and the Japanese Garden. You might even bump into a peacock here...
