Food scene
One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee right here in Walkers point! Really delicious, creative cocktails pair perfectly with the gourmet Mexican fusion food.
I recommend sitting on the patio, be sure to make a reservation, the space is quite small and dinner spots go fast.

Best ways to entertain the little ones
Milwaukee has a wealth of green spaces and parks. If you want to have a free day of entertainment, currently the HOP street car is free for all riders. Catch in the Third ward in front of the public market and get off in Cathedral square. There's a great play ground there. Get on the hop again and take it all the way to the Lake. You can walk the beach front, play in the parks, walk along the Oak leaf trail and ride all the way back when you are done.
