Taliesin is the home, studio, school, and 800-acre agricultural estate of the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright built Taliesin on his favorite boyhood hill in the Wisconsin River valley homesteaded by his Welsh grandparents and named it Taliesin in honor of the Welsh bard whose name means “Shining Brow. Wright was also an avid collector of Asian art and used Taliesin as a storehouse and private museum.

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is home to museum exhibits on the culture and history of America's rivers. The campus also includes over a dozen aquariums featuring wildlife representative of that found in the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico and other river systems and deltas, including giant catfish, sturgeon, ducks, frogs, turtles, rays, octopus, river otters, and more. There are also outdoor exhibits, featuring river otters, a marsh, and large artifacts, such as boats, a blacksmith shop, a stream, and raptor aviaries including bald eagle.

In the heart of the historic lead-zinc mining region near the world’s largest “M,” the three-acre campus of The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums preserves the heritage of southwestern Wisconsin. Shop for rock and mineral specimens and gifts related to regional history in our museum store. Enjoy the outdoor greenspace, pollinator garden, and picnic grounds. Explore our exhibits on the nature, culture, and history of the region. Take the one-hour guided tour of the underground mine in the back yard, and ride the outdoor mine train. Place-based exhibits and interpretive programs are located inside the historically significant 1863 Rock School, the 1905 Hanmer Robbins School, the 1845 Bevans Mine, and in beautiful outdoor spaces visitors are encouraged to explore.
