Great food and serving draft beer from Burial Beer brewing on the same property. What makes this place especially interesting is that it is situated in a former Civilian Conservation Corp camp from the 1930's. One major project that the men who lived her worked on was creating the Blue Ridge Parkway.

My #2 favorite restaurant. Owned and operated by chef Hector Diaz you will find some of the best Mexican/Caribbean cuisine available in the region. An easy walk south on Flint St and over the bridge. Continue south on Haywood St to the end. Turn left on Patton and it’s about a block and a half on the right.

Sightseeing

If you haven't been, Biltmore Estate is a must see. America's largest home built by George Vanderbilt II. The interior tour is amazing including the art, wardrobe, furniture and a look into the lifestyle of the 19th century Gilded Age. I recommend renting the audio narrative. Don't miss the outdoor gardens, spring summer and fall and the green house all year round. Your entry fee also allows you to dine at any of their superb restaurants. You can shop at the gift store at the entrance without an admission fee. Get your tickets early. Fall and Christmas often sell out.

Great place to go to sit in a creek, look at the falls and with open fields that are easy to wander around in and easy to find your way back. Head south on the Blue Ridge Parkway (with spectacular views to the top of Pisgah mountain and beyond). Pull into the parking lot at milepost 418.8 and head down the flight of stairs. Turn right to see the water falls. Hiking is easy to difficult on trails that originate from this trailhead. Graveyard Fields Trail 3.2 miles (USFS #358) Graveyard Ridge Trail 3.4 miles (USFS #356)

This is an easy 1 mile hike preceded by a drive through Pisgah National Forest Coleman Boundary that includes some opportunity for rock climbing and views of several smaller water falls before reaching the parking area. The hike has very little elevation change. From Burnsville, go east on US 19E for 0.5 mile and turn right (south) onto NC 197. Stay on this road through Pensacola and Cane River Gap to Barnardsville (stay on NC 197 for about 25 miles). Turn left at the intersection of NC 197 and NC 2173 (Dillingham Road) remain on NC 2173, which becomes NFSR 74. Follow this gravel road for 8.8 miles to the end of the road. The trailhead is straight ahead.
