It's been famous for years, but the new location is way better. It's a bit of a walk from Frenchmen street but worth it, particularly if you're going to indulge in bourbon street. Pricey but excellent. Outdoor Courtyard seating available. And the bar is beautiful, with proper seating available and a piano player on most nights.

Oyster happy hour! Great drinks and delicious oysters! I've heard they have a great menu but I wouldn't know I'm too busy eating oysters. It's so good I manage to make it out every couple months despite having to cross Canal Street into the horrid CBD. (It's really not that bad, locals just tend to stay within walking distance of where they live)

Good dose of culture in between shopping at the French market and partying on Frenchmen street. You will definitely learn stuff and in a pain free fashion. Currently there's an awesome Michalopoulos Exhibition. For the history buffs, they have the best archives of jazz music in the world, though you will have to talk the curator into giving you a private tour but well worth it if you're into that. Be sure to check out Fat Domino's piano!
Even if you're not super into museum visiting you will definitely appreciate New Orlean's music more after a visit..
