The only big one on the Coast. Has everything any other Casino has, probably a bit worn in parts, but the newly renovated Garden Restaurant & Bar is million dollar spectacular. I frequent this one because i like the Thai food and the lady that runs it, she's old school and gives good service with a smile. She proudly told me she now has a liquor licence (who would have known she didn't). Its not a far drive from home either.

The best Indian ever. I know the owner very well and know how fussy he is about the food. Service can be a little light sometimes, so don't be in a hurry for a curry! Easy to get to as the tram stop is across the road. A short walk from Broadbeach shops and the Casino.

A very active place. Is extremely child friendly with playgrounds and water play area. They have a celebration fair nearly every weekend. I go for afternoon latin and tango dancing in the open there once a month. Can fish from the dock or walk the Broadwater river side.

So much happens here. You'll see Surfing, skidoo-ing and dog walkers, divers, boating, fishing, running, and for many a walk along the trail to Main Beach and back.

This is a flat water beach about 8kms away. Many people walk it or swim. Pelicans feed around 1pm. There is a great fish shop, which sells all kinds of fresh fish, and cooked fish and chips etc., a little on the expensive side though.

This is where it all started on the Gold Coast. Back in the day people had grown up pajama parties, and wore bikinis before they were 'allowed'.
The beaches are clean and beautiful. The food is ok, bit touristy.
The clubs play good music that the crowd likes, not the DJ. The bars are friendly and many. Waxey's is a local place to go. There are rules to drinking and some clubs can't let you in after 2 or 3pm.
You can catch trams and buses, it also has a latenight bus.
