It's the best sampling of authentic cuban cuisine in town. It is also a historic site because it's been here since the first immigration of cubans began. It is a family place. The plates including the sandwiches are extremely filling to make it the main meal of the day. It's also very, very affordable, especially when on a tight budget as the main courses run anywhere from $8.00 to $17.00. It's within walking distance from the apartment.

It's a few dollars more expensive than La Carreta, the only difference is that the food presentation is a bit more modern. This place is exactly in front of La Carreta and also within walking distance from the apartment. It's fantastic to go and drink cuban coffee (a more arabic version of expresso) and listen to people from all walks of life talking about Cuba, dominoes, food and how your day has been.

Versailles Cuban Bakery
3501 SW 8th StIt's the "sister" of La Carreta. It's owned by the same man for the past 45 years. It's a great sampling of authentic cuban food and cuban pastries. It's a few dollars more expensive than La Carreta, the only difference is that the food presentation is a bit more modern. This place is exactly in front of La Carreta and also within walking distance from the apartment. It's fantastic to go and drink cuban coffee (a more arabic version of expresso) and listen to people from all walks of life talking about Cuba, dominoes, food and how your day has been.

It's about 10-15 minutes away from the apartment on a straight drive from 8th street. On Fridays and Saturdays it plays a mix of latin music rhythmns and there's enough place to dance. The food is fresh and with an island flavor: spicy without being hot. It's also very affordable without being cheap. The plates are about $12-$17. You'll eat good and have a great time. It'a also family friendly, all age groups belong.

Drinks & Nightlife
Spending a whole day at Miami Beach, especially close to Ocean Drive will make you pumped! During the day, you can sunbathe and anytime you've had enough, you can walk the strip and have a drink in any of the bars/restaurants right there. Overall the beach is not really good for eating, but just to sit and have tapas in any place on Ocean drive and watch people go by is an experience by itself. Many fancy pricey boutiques are here. For Good dining I would much rather recommend Coral Gables. There is a restaurant guide in the unit which is very helpful for all tastes.

It's a historic site. In the heart of Coral Gables and about 5 minutes from the unit. Although it is a public park, you still have to pay to swim. It's beautiful and very family friendly.

a m a zi n g! It's about $80.00 per person but it will be unforgettable! birds chirping, pebbled walls & trees & plants that are over 100 years old. If you have a loved one to impress, you won't regret this place. Even if you don't eat there, having a drink inside or outside is also an unforgettable experience.

This is a very secluded beach and from which the skyline of Miami's photographs have been taken. It's perfect for kids and adults. Not too small & not too large. There is a fish restaurant that is amazing too. The day spent here will be truly unforgettable!

The first Friday of every month all local galleries in Miami open their doors until very late hours at night (2:00-3:00am). You can walk the streets with free glasses of wine while enjoying "gallery hoping" and sightseeing the entire "City Beautiful" (another name for Coral Gables)

You can find just about anything here. This is an outlet mall, so you will find stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Bebe, to name a few.
It is about 20-25 minutes from the apartment since most likely you will be going with traffic. On Saturdays and Sunday you'll probably make about 15 minutes. There is a food court inside which helps on rainy days.
My favorite shopping mall. The only thing is that you should think of spending the day there because it's a mile long. You will find amazing buys. My recommendation would be to walk the mall as if you were driving a car: walk only seeing the stores to the right so when you're ready to go back to your car you can return looking at the stores to the left and thus avoiding the tiredness and lengthy walk back to your starting point. It's about 50 minutes to an hour drive. You will not regret it.

My favorite shopping mall. The only thing is that you should think of spending the day there because it's a mile long. You will find amazing buys. My recommendation would be to walk the mall as if you were driving a car: walk only seeing the stores to the right so when you're ready to go back to your car you can return looking at the stores to the left and thus avoiding the tiredness and lengthy walk back to your starting point. It's about 50 minutes to an hour drive. You will not regret it.
