Try their meatloaf, chicken fried steak, or patty melts! They’ve got limited hours, so be sure to double check that they’re open before heading that way!

The Pennant is one of Topeka’s newest restaurants! It sits downtown and has a bowling alley and more than 25 arcade and pinball machines to entertain you while you wait for your food. They have a rotating beer selection and absolutely ridiculous desserts. (Picture cotton candy poking out of an ice cream cone sitting on top of a shake… Obviously the good kind of ridiculous.) Stop by and see how their locally-sourced ingredients make their food such high quality!

Their lunch and dinner menu is exclusively burgers and fries (and grilled cheese or chicken strips for the kids), but don’t let that scare you away! They have plenty of toppings (free!) for their burgers: jalapenos, avocado, grilled pineapple, bacon, a variety of cheeses, etc., and their fries are hand cut right in the restaurant. Their bar is known for their bloody marys, moonshine, and of course their karaoke bar! It’s about 20 minutes away and they’re open late.

They have cheddar, colby, pepper jack, Monterey jack, co-jack, New York sharp cheddar, and parmesan, and they often have free samples available or unevenly cut cheeses on sale. Alma Creamery also sells their own milk as well as other Kansas specialty products from Wyldewood Cellars Winery, Grandma Hoerner's, and jerky & sausage from Prairie Thunder Elk! It’s a cute little stop for the family, and their cheese curds are definitely worth the trip!
