Food Scene

Its an old New Orleans Bakery and has the best Italian deserts in the world and the best Cafe' Au Lait ever. It is charming and REAL New Orleans in every sense.

Amazing food, upbeat atmosphere and décor, great neighborhood, excellent appetizers and specialty drinks. I have had nothing but fun, excellent service and sit at the bar and enjoy cocktails and a fabulous mix of exceptional appetizers. One of the best Chefs in our City. No traffic or congestion in this superb New Orleans neighborhood.

This is my favorite restaurant in the City. Its a bit pricey, not too bad, but is adorable, modern but warm design, and the drinks and food are just so darn good every time. Its uptown and not in the middle of congestion and touristville. You will surely love it. Great for couples and groups.

Drinks & Nightlife

Great and unusual cheeses, super wine list, nifty set up right on St. Charles Avenue and special because its where my husband took me on our first date. Its cozy for a couple and also perfect for a group of friends. No need to eat or have drinks in the quarter at all. Lots of goodies uptown and in the Lake View area.

Entertainment & Activities

If you can catch a concert at Champion Square while you are visiting, you will be so happy that you did. Its a small, intimate, outside venue where you can feel connected to the artist no matter where you sit or stand. I have seen three artists there and seek out a concert whenever I can. It feels like the old, close-knit venues from the 70's only better since the area is open. You will love to see your favorite artists or bands in this gem of a location.

Arts & Culture

This establishment was so well put together and a pleasure to visit. Its not hard to get to and not too hard to park around it either. Its not in the quarter or close to the river. Its a decently easy to access. You will regret a trip to this spot. You will be enlightened and glad you caught this on your trip.

Visit both the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Sculpture garden when you go to the park. There is also a nature garden which I found so relaxing and simply lovely. All three are about a block from each other once you get to the park. You will need a full day from about 10 to 4 to catch all three if you want to. A stroll around the park is nice too. We also have a very old playground for the kids called "Storyland." Nearly all of the statues are from the 50's and I remember them from my childhood in the 60's. If you have kids, take them there so you can see a part of real New Orleans history while they play.
