This house was built in 1751 by John Beebe Jr. and is now the Kent Historical Society Museum. This home has a unique history, having at one point been a fur trading establishment as evidenced by the words "mink", "beaver", and "bear" written in blue chalk on the second floor beams. Artist George Lawerence Nelson was the home's most recent owner. It was in his possession from 1919 to 1979. He bequeathed it to KHS upon his death. Many of his paintings can be found on display. Open seasonally on weekends June through September, or by appointment.
