Where to eat

We find it best to cook our own meals, but if you're in a pinch, the local fish & chip shop (5167 3666) and the kebab truck at the BP are decent takeaway options. If you're after pub fare, the local RSL serves typical pub meals. Meals from 6-8pm Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights (5146 0841). Bookings preferred but not essential. The Lakeview Bistro serves fancier fare and has nice views but be prepared to pay for the privilege (5146 0666). Sale, about 35-40 mins away, has more dining options. Try out the Burrito Bar for fast-food TexMex or Portside Food + Wine for excellent cafe meals

Kangaroo spotting

Local wildlife, kangaroos in particular, are not shy and will come out to the backyard to say hello. Do be careful driving at dusk as kangaroos (and other wildlife) tend to be more active in the neighbourhood at those times.

Loch Sport on Tank Water

All of Loch Sport is on tank water. Best to bring bottled water. Coles or Woolies sell 10L water for less than $5.

Mobile network coverage

Telstra is the only network that has reliable coverage in Loch Sport (it also gets spotty during peak periods). Optus has ok reception in most parts but Vodafone network is nearly non-existent in town.

Don't forget to bring firewood & marshmallows

There is a firepit in our backyard. It is a good spot for stargazing and, with a fire blazing, is perfect for making memories.

Insect repellent

Being near bodies of water, Loch Sport gets mozzies depending on the season. We provide bug spray and mozzie coils for use at the property but feel free to bring your own.
