A lovely walk through the Queens Park past the Loch takes you to this Inn. The Skittle Alley is still available though expect to put up your own skittles before knocking them down.

I love this street food restaurant. It is busy most of the time so be prepared for a short line up. The food is worth it. You will sit at communal tables and get your water from the tap. Bubble prawns are a must. Good value too.

Hidden Gem - I have yet to try this restaurant and will update my suggestion when I have. I do know it receives great reviews and is just 5 minutes from the flat. If you are trying to keep your ski legs in good shape the Midlothian Snowsports Centre, formerly the Hillend Ski Centre, is the longest dry ski slope in Europe, situated near Hillend near Edinburgh, South East Scotland. Tubing and para gliding is also nearby should you have some spare time and energy left over. This can be reached by bus though you need to walk up the hill to the ski centre. Good exercise.
