You can't miss a walk, cycle or jog along the world's longest uninterrupted waterfront path from Coal Harbour all the way to Spanish Banks. While the 28 km may be a little daunting (!), do as much or as little as you like. Start at the foot of Manitoba then walk in either direction. Hop an Aquabus to get back when you're feet have given up. Note: Be careful to be in the correct section; there are two clearly marked - one for walkers and runners the other for cyclists and rollerbladers.

The most popular beach in the city, it is great for everyone. Swimming, beach food, nearby cafes/restaurants, playground, walking trails heading to adjacent smaller beaches and parks. You can't miss on a sunny summer day. Or go for a run or walk along the trail (heading east toward Granville Island) on any day rain or shine. The views of downtown as you walk toward Granville Island along the water, are amazing, and you also go right past the Museum of Vancouver. Kits beach is a good place to wile away an afternoon if you want to escape either the rain or the sun!

See historic Vancouver as it once was in Gastown. Located at the edge of downtown, and close to the business district and ocean, Gastown offers lots of restaurants and gift shops. You can walk from Gastown to the Vancouver Convention Centre where the views are stunning and there are 3 large restaurants and a hotel to eat at (Mahony's, Tap and Barrel, Cactus Club, The Pacific Rim Hotel)

Drinks & Nightlife

One of Vancouver's best microbrewery (my personal favourite), a 5 minute walk down the street. Try their award-winning authentic west coast pale ale ("33 acres of Ocean") or get a sampler of 4. There is always a local food truck out front serving good eats.
