It is home to the General locomotive, made famous during the Civil War’s Great Locomotive Chase of 1862. The museum comprises nearly 50,000 square foot facility housing three permanent exhibits: Railroads: Lifelines of the Civil War; Glover Machine Works: Casting a New South; and The Great Locomotive Chase featuring the General locomotive. This is a fun museum for adults and children, alike! When you are done touring, enjoy one of the local downtown Kennesaw eateries, coffee houses or the newest brewery.

A 40,000 sq ft, all-concrete skatepark at Swift-Cantrell Park consists of a Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Foundation Certified Skate Plaza, flow course and bowl and there is no charge to use the facility. There is a one of the largest Inclusive Playgrounds in the state featuring five (5) play structures, swings and a pavilion. The park is also known for its open turf for passive recreation as well as its one mile perimeter asphalt trail and half mile inner-loop asphalt trail for kicking or throwing the ball around or getting your steps in! There are also 3 picnic pavilions, a dog park and splash-pad for kids. During the summer, Swift Cantrell hosts outdoor movie nights which make for a fun family outing.
