It marks where I have previously found chanterelles. You do not have to get lost in the woods. They can often be found along small paths. Make sure you are 100% sure of any mushrooms you eat. Luckily chanterelles are not easily mistaken for something else.

Within a short walk from the house is Gården, every Thursday in July there will be a local market with local food and drinks. Check out their Facebook post for other activities.

When we first visited Bovallstrand we met an old lobster fisherman, almost 90 still going strong and just returned from the sea showing us his recent catch. He recommended the closest restaurant Bryggcafet. Since then we have returned every spring, every summer, every autumn and in between for good food, great wines and good memories.

Discovering past heritage and life of early Sweden in this fabulous small museum. Descent food after a walk of petroglyphs exploring.
And the forest around the museum is full of chanterelles as well.

Bring a snack, drink and perhaps your swimming trunks and spend a morning or afternoon walk in the nature reserve of Veddö.
Skutebacksbukten is great for kids.
We have often found chanterelles in the woods close to the parking. But note: never eat or taste mushrooms you are not 110% sure of.

Th community has historically been dominated by the rise and decline of herring stocks, and proudly continues the heritage of this, the most widespread species of fish on the planet. Pickled herring is an important ingredient in Swedish cuisine - eaten on Christmas buffets, Easter buffets and of course at Mid-summer - always along with "snaps" and singing.
Klädesholmen Seafood, is the largest Swedish-owned herring producer, and makes more than half of all pickled herring. The production are transferred to larger factory premises in Rönnäng, on Tjörn, but the factory outlet has remained on Klädesholmen.

The hearsay is that this is the biggest shop of sports gear in Sweden. This might be true, but we never really checked. But if you forgot your sporty clothesline at home, you will most likely find your new favourites here.

Malins small vintage shop close to Kville, Holmarna 1, 45 743 has wonderful porcelain and objects of interest. Also on offer are eggs, coffee and flowers and furniture.
Malin’s vintage is really a gem if you are in to vintage shopping.
