Palm Desert’s impressive mile-long shopping district. With a mix of more than 200 shops, restaurants, art galleries and more. Jewelry, apparel, art, home décor and more than two dozen restaurants, cafes and bakeries – many with outdoor terraces or patios – it’s the perfect place for lunch, coffee or a glass of wine between shops.

Parks & Nature

Beautiful park with lots of trails and interesting rock formations. 1 hour drive through the park. $25 for 7 day entry pass. I recommend stopping at Pappy & Harriet's on the way there or home. It's fun place with live music most nights. A reservation won't hurt depending on when you go.

This place might look kind of scary but it’s not! It carries a selection of groceries, fresh produce, and liquor. As with most small markets, it’s expensive, so don’t plan on doing a full grocery shop here.

Food Scene

Dillon's is a fun dive bar with friendly staff, great prices, good bar food (the salads are really good too!) and family friendly. At night they often have live music, bingo or karaoke. Popular among the locals and snowbirds so there is lots of people watching to be had! Closes at 8:30 pm so get there early!

Speakeasy style cocktail bar. First rate cocktails, amazing burger, friendly staff. Looks like a dive from the outside — that’s part of the intrigue!

Best Mexican food hands down! Super fresh food, layers of tastes, and amazing service too. There's a cute patio on the side now too! They don't take reservations so expect a short line-up if you go right at dinner time! We also love Felipe's, close to the airport.

HWY 62 Open Studio Art Tours

Highly recommend! For three weekends in October, some 130 art studios across the Morongo Basin, which includes Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms, and others, are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for your viewing pleasure. It's so fun to visit with the artists on their unique properties. Cost: $-$$$$ (depending on your tastes!)
