Our state capital is a little under a 2 hour drive away. Exploring the state capital building, visiting the historical museum the street from the capital, taking a trolley tour of town, digging for sapphires, or catching the Gates of the Mountains boat tour on the Missouri are some of many activities.

The Saturday Farmer's and People's Market
These markets are held in Caras Park in late spring and summer along the river and downtown within a few blocks of one another. Fun to explore and a good place for grabbing breakfast and a coffee/tea/lemonade.

We have a free bus system (and in the summer a trolley shuttle to the farmer's market) in town. Check out their app for the schedule or there are some maps on the bookshelf outside your room (though the most recent info will be online).

We live close to wild areas. Animals live here too. If you go out to hike, explore, be bear aware and it may not hurt to take bear spray.
