Guests want to know whether an experience or service meets their needs before booking. They can filter Airbnb search results for specific accessibility features and message hosts to ask for more details.

Let guests know what’s available during your experience or service by choosing from the accessibility features in the Listings tab. Service hosts can only select sign language at this time. If you’re able to make other accommodations, consider sharing details in your listing or welcome message.

Auditory and visual support

Add these features if you can offer sign language or a designated sighted guide.

  • Sign language: You, a co-host, or an assistant can communicate with guests who are deaf or hard of hearing, or arrange for an interpreter. More than 300 sign languages are used worldwide, including American, Chinese, and Spanish. Specify which sign languages are available.
  • Designated sighted guide: You’re able to provide an experienced guide to help guests who are blind or have low vision.

Mobility accessibility features

Add these features if guests, including wheelchair users, can navigate the experience from start to finish without steps or other obstacles.

  • Step-free access: There are no steps, stairs, thresholds, or obstacles greater than 2 inches (5 centimeters) throughout the experience.
  • Step-free bathroom: There’s a bathroom available to guests that has no steps or stairs to enter.
  • Mainly flat or leveled ground: The ground throughout your experience is wide, has a firm surface, and little or no slope.
  • Disabled parking spot: There’s a designated parking space for guests with disabilities, or a spot that’s wider than 8 feet (2.5 meters), near the start of your experience.
  • Entrances wider than 32 inches: Entrances and doorways required to access the experience are at least 32 inches (81 centimeters) wide.

If the experience doesn’t have these features, consider whether you can modify the route or location to welcome more guests with accessibility needs.

Sensory considerations

Add these features if your experience can accommodate guests who have environmental sensitivities.

  • No extreme sensory stimuli: Your activities have limited exposure to bright lights, loud noises, strong smells, and large crowds.
  • Quiet retreat space available: There’s a separate low-noise area, or a dedicated private space, that guests can use during the experience.

If you can make adjustments, consider creating a version of the experience with fewer sensory stimuli.

Offering experiences and services with accessibility in mind gives more guests the opportunity and confidence to book.
