Me and my wife stayed there recently and used it as our base camp to explore the new river gorge national park. The house was perfect for our needs as every place we wanted to go was nearby and its hard to beat the view of the river out back. I met John and he was a really nice guy and Id recommend anyone staying there to contact him for his rafting or fishing guide services. We are already planning our trip back and will stay here again

“Al’s Place” hosted by Ms Ellen was the most amazing place to have my daughter’s medical school graduation gathering!! Less than 30 minutes from WVSOM in Lewisburg towards Charleston, it was easily accessible… only minutes off the Interstate. Pictures DO NOT do it justice… BREATHTAKING is an understatement!!! Ms Ellen’s attention to detail is second to none. The cabin itself is so pretty especially with the screened in porch adorned with string lights, porch setting, chairs, grill and not to mention the most beautiful view of the river!!!!! Again, the backyard is wide open with a fire pit and one can sit there for hours gazing out at the river. I literally can not wait to return and stay longer!!!!

Anne’s place was so warm and inviting. The living room was so beautiful and spacious that we never felt on top of each other. The small dining room as you entered the home greeted you in a way that made you feel the history of the home. The master bedroom and bathroom are dreamy. The claw tub was the highlight of my trip and my most dreaded departure. The kitchen was well equipped and the pieces of old furniture and cabinets really are the perfect touch. We enjoyed the propane fire place as we sat for a period of relaxation. With no TV the children (and husband) were worried but we played some major foosball and listed to the radio from our phones and just enjoyed the simplicity of our stay. The home is beautiful as you can see the time and attention Anne has invested in to restoring this cabin. Just the trip we needed, we are so glad we booked the extra day!

We are thrilled we stumbled across this little house when we decided last minute to spend the weekend prior to our daughter’s nearby bike race. Rachel & Nate were so helpful with quick communication, flexibility on check-in, clear instructions, and loads of helpful tips for our stay. We tried several of the restaurants they recommended, and they were all phenomenal. We especially loved the Cathedral Cafe! The house itself is an absolute joy! The detail put into the wizard theme is awe worthy. We loved the SWEET little kitchen complete with candy bar, the cozy ambiance of the twinkle lights, and the very quiet and peaceful yard. We are already plotting another visit to the area, hoping to check out their Game House next door! Thank you for a great stay!

This is a great little get away with enough room to hold our family. Our kids loved exploring outside and were comfortable the whole stay. The fireplace and patio were a huge selling point and would come back just for those amenities.

Our stay was peaceful as expected. The campground is under construction and we are excited to see what it looks like on the future. We were able to find wood at Grants IGA, and definitely took advantage of the fire pits. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Local places we enjoyed: Pies and Pints, Cold Spot, bridge walk- Paul was awesome, Secret Sandwich Society, Freedolk brewing, and the bike farm. Endless Wall trail at NRG had breathtaking views. Cannot wait to explore more.

Accurate description of the house. House was clean, spacious and in a perfect location to meet our needs. Checking in was a breeze. Check-out was easy. HollI’s communication skills are A+++; she was VERY responsive to any questions/comments we sent to her. Although the house is fairly close to I-64, it didn’t bother us; we found the sound of vehicles to be “white noise”. (FULL DISCLOSURE: There were 2 issues we noted and passed along: 1) an issue with the back door (Holli was already aware) which was attributed to a previous guest’s dog enough to drop a full point; and 2) an inconsiderate neighbor left their dog out both nights and it barked the entire night (but not during the day) and it did keep one from our group awake the 1st night; earbuds were used to drown out the barking. That was passed along to Holli so she can investigate further; based on her response to us we have no doubt she has. Despite this, if in the area again we would certainly consider this location!

Christine is absolutely lovely and I really enjoyed my stay at her house for 2 nights. The neighborhood is quiet (minus the occasional dog barking) and safe and the house is comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable - very soft, which I like. I will say for anyone who is concerned about the lack of wifi, it really wasn't a big deal for me. I had a strong signal on my phone and so the couple of times I needed to get some work done in the evening I was able to use my hotspot. I would stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

This place was perfect for our stay in Beckley. The place was clean and cozy. The host was very nice and great with communication.
