We rented Lara's beautiful home for my daughter's bridesmaids retreat! It was the perfect setting for her and her friends to worship, pray, cook and prepare for my daughter's wedding day! The home is so well decorated - it feels peaceful just walking in the door. Everything needed is there! Lara responds so quickly to questions and is so proactive in reaching out with directions, information and any other needs you have! This was one of the best AirBNB experiences I have ever had!

All I can say is wow! This home is the perfect vacation spot!! A ton of privacy, very clean and plenty of yard for your fur baby to run around! We saw so much wildlife which was really exciting! The blackstone griddle was perfect for cooking breakfast and dinners! Plenty of towels to enjoy many soaks in the hot tub and enough for showering. I will absolutely rent here again as it is perfect! About a 25 minute trip to Mt. Airy which has all of your restaurant and grocery needs. thank you Balager for sharing such a incredible getaway! We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful addition to our trip….very clean and perfect for what we wanted

This was our first time at this Airbnb. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. This was exactly what we were looking for. Remote, peaceful and relaxing. Nothing but cattle farms on rolling hills as far as the eye can see. Amy was a perfect host and the fresh eggs and meats from their farm were amazing. We will definitely be back!

This was one of my favorite Airbnb. Not only was this a last minute booking and the hosts were very accommodating, it was clean and peaceful. The cabin is everything you could want in a mountain get away.

Ryan’s was just as described. It was cozy, very clean and had the basic foods( coffee, tea, sugar,condiment's etc). Kitchen was well equipped as were the bathrooms. For me the best part, was the views from the deck, the complete silence except for the sounds of nature, and the sun rises. The bird song first thing in the morning will enthrall you. In the evening the sound of the cattle lowing is very calming. The deer will pass through every now and then. For nature lovers it is a paradise. If you are looking for an urban setting this is not your place. If you are looking for tranquility, this a great place. Bring a good book, your favorite food and drink and enjoy

The cabin is aptly named—it is right by the New River. I suspect in summer, you’d be lucky to get this place, since it’d be excellent for river access. We got to chill out in mid-April, thanks both to cold weather & the peaceful, scenic surroundings. The cabin is charming & comfortable & just as pictured. We slept delightfully well in the queen beds. The kitchen has a wealth of dishes, cookware, utensils, etc., plus some spices & fridge items on hand. The dining area looks out on the mountains. Although we didn’t use them much because of the cold, there’s a front & a side porch with nice views. Everything was spotlessly clean, & Danielle was a gracious & responsive host. Note: there is no WiFi, but we managed using our phones as hot spots. Cell service was generally okay. The town of Independence is only about 10 minutes away, & it has a marvelous grocery store. We enjoyed delicious pizza at Ciro’s, & we’d recommend Powerhouse Falls for an outdoor adventure.

Our stay at Finn’s Folly was fantastic, we wish it could have been longer. Kathryn is a great host, even leaving us some fresh eggs to enjoy! We’d gladly stay again.

Scott is an exceptional host and The Grove is a treasure find !!! From the cozy, comfortable and private cabin to the beautiful surroundings of nature trails, wildlife, and magical star gazing , this is our all time favorite Airbnb ! We have stayed here multiple times each year for the past 5 years and highly recommend The Grove !!!

This is probably the third or fourth time we have stayed at this property and love it more every time we go. Thank you for having us again!!

Loved the , big house, big kitchen, going to the winery right there was really cool and seeing all the grape vines (although they were brown due to being winter of course) had a nice area for kids and dogs too play. Had a fire pit and they had a bunch of camping chairs to use which was cool. Kitchen stocked with almost all the cookware you’d need. Great sta for a great price

This is in a beautiful area and provides the guest a very relaxing time in an authentic cabin for the area. Nothing better than sitting on the porch listening to the babble of the river.

We had a wonderful time spending time together as a family in this beautiful setting. Dana couldn’t have been more helpful leading up to the trip. The house is as described and is beautiful. We liked the fact that it is not cluttered and is open. The river view and the deck are wonderful. We took two dogs and this home was good for them as well. The mesh gates at the steps both inside and outside the house were appreciated. It was especially nice for the dogs to enjoy the outside without worrying about them going off the deck. It was wonderful to be disconnected from social media, telephones, and television. We appreciated the landline in case we did have an emergency or somebody needed to reach us. I would definitely recommend this home.

We had a great stay. This is a beautiful and peaceful location, with plenty of wildlife to view. Would definitely stay here again!

The Floyd EcoVillage cabin was the perfect fit for me. I needed a peaceful place to decompress, but wanted to be close to town for restaurants, etc. It was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and convenient--exactly what I needed!

This was one of our favorite stays. It’s so peaceful and Vicky has thought of everything to make this a comfortable stay. We enjoyed listening to the birds and the rushing stream. We roasted weenies at the fire pit and enjoyed coffee in the morning on the porch. After a long day of fly fishing we had fresh towels and a comfy bed. We look forward to making many more memories at Vicky’s place!

Pieter and Jenna's place was ideal for us after a day of hiking. Peaceful, quiet and close to the AT. Price was very reasonable in comparison to others and it was not a hotel. We just needed an overnight quiet place to sleep, make dinner and breakfast and back on the trail and then back home. Our goal was not to hang out, but it might have been nice to use or bring a Solo Stove Fire Pit. Their place was VERY clean, looked new, easy check in and check out. Not a big fridge or microwave but worked just fine for our needs. There is no door between the bathroom/laundry room and the bedroom, just small swinging saloon doors. Which is fine, as long as you understand that you don't have the kind of privacy you may be used to at home. All-in-all, it was a nice place to stay and would come back again.

The cabin is so secluded. At night we heard nothing but wildlife. It was so quiet we could hear the Mayo river even though it was a half mile away. Anytime I can get somewhere where there is next to no cell phone service, I am happy. It was a nice short walk to the rapids and my family spent most of the day there.

Love this little place hidden in the woods, away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet and comfy, perfect location to just BE. February weather being what it is, we spent most of our time indoors with a fire in the cozy woodstove. Our original plan was for me to spend days in town for an assignment but when it fell through, well, the change in plans was everything I didn't know I needed. Our communication was fabulous - very responsive and helpful with all of my questions.

Place was just what we needed. Nice quiet spot to stay and relax. Close to the trials. We will definitely be back.
