Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft mit gigantischem Ausblick. Der Bus liegt auf einer Anhöhe, wo nicht mal die Straße auf Google Maps eingezeichnet ist. Die Besitzer wohnen mit auf der Anhöhe und sind super lieb und waren bemüht damit es uns gut ging. Die Sonnenaufgänge sind wunderschön. Sehr empfehlenswert.

A Delightful Dive into Whimsy! From the moment we caught a glimpse of that bold pop of yellow through the forest—visible even from the road—we were captivated! The Yellow Submarine truly lives up to its name, bursting with character and a sense of playfulness that made our stay unforgettable. The welcome was just as vibrant as the sub itself. Hatch open, we stepped into a space that had us in stitches—laughing, exploring, and marvelling at its quirky charm. Every nook told a story, and Lucius added to the adventure by discovering the alarm... and setting it off a few times for good measure (much to their delight!). Surprisingly spacious, the sub gave us a cozy evening of card games, laughter, and connection. We timed it perfectly with brilliant blue skies all the way from Hamilton—sunshine that matched the mood. Some may wonder why we’d go all that way. But for us, it’s always about the fun, the memories, and finding joy in the unexpected. The Yellow Submarine? An absolute gem.

We stayed with Debbie for two nights. Every morning she brought fruits from her garden we could eat. Had some nice conversations with her. We had a good time at your place, thank you!

We were looking for a quintessential Kiwi camping experience to share with 3 young boys and found exactly what we were looking for right here at Justin & Ngawai’s Caravan at the beach. Exactly as described, this is not 5 star modern accomodation, this takes you back in time…we all loved it… Justin & Ngawai are awesome hosts, sharing their little piece of paradise is a privilege to have experienced… we are all grateful for the great memories

Kevin's House Truck was great - funky, comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed. Location is great, close to Kaikōura and all the major tours and activities. It's a shame we only had one night to stay here because we could have easily stayed longer.

We stayed for three nights whilst attending the music festival a few minutes down the road. The van provided everything we needed including the most comfortable bed imaginable. Alex and Jo were very kind and helpful. A lovely stay. Thank you.

Our stay at Felicia’s was simply perfect! She took care of us from start to finish, always available and attentive. Her hospitality and kindness made our experience even more enjoyable. We stayed one night and we loved it! Outdoor shower and toilet super comfortable, kitchen was equipped and place itself very comfy and quiet. Would book it again:)

We had an incredible stay at Hidden Gem, Whanarua Bay. This spacious place truly exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was clean, equipped with everything we needed, outdoors bath delightful touch, fabulous bbq area, pizza oven, brazier, washing machine a great convenience, toilet and shower facilities made the stay even more comfortable. The setting is safe, secure and perfect environment for relaxation and rejuvenation. Immersed in breathtaking views of nature in complete tranquility, such a peaceful and scenic spot from the hustle and bustle. Thank you so much Alistair (down to earth, great communication, responsive host) and siblings for sharing your family paradise. Highly recommend! We definitely will return.

We had a wonderful weekend away at Nikki’s classic kiwi bach! The location is so beautiful, and it was great to be right on the waterfront. The Bach is lovely and had everything we needed for a great stay. I only wish that we could have stayed longer! Nikki is a friendly, helpful and responsive host. Hopefully we will get to come back again one day!

Had a great and relaxing afternoon and night after we did the Tongariro hike. Beautiful surrounding and view, saw horses and goats on the premise. The campervan was nice for sleep and the outdoor bathtub with the view into the hills was a special experience. Thank you

My stay in Evi the bus has been nothing other than extremely pleasant. Andrea and her husband John are very kind, welcoming people and their dog Bruno is a real sweetheart. The bus itself is very comfortable and precisely like the pictures represent. The location is perfect for exploring the area (Waitangi, Russell, Paihia) and even for making a trip towards Cape Reinga. The hospitality has been heartwarming and even late at night when I was in need of some help, Andrea came over to assist me. Plus, she even gave me a nature lesson with some very interesting facts about the nightlife and the sounds we could hear outside. Hearing a Kiwi-sound, a Morepork owl and seeing the galaxy extremely clearly from right outside the bus has been an amazing extra. Thanks again for the wonderful few days!

Donna met us for our check-in to show us where everything was located and how to use anything in the RV. Donna was so friendly and lovely to speak to. She told us about the area, things to do and provided great recommendations. The accomodation was comfortable, relaxing, had everything we needed and had beautiful views with some cute neighbours (sheep and deer). We will definitely be back!

Donna is everything that the other guests have described… and more. She waited until my son arrived, as he was driving a long distance, and waited until he got there, well into her evening. There were treats waiting for him, and cool beers in the fridge. Beyond kind. He loved it, adored staying, and would love his own, one day! Thank you 🙏. Absolutely wonderful hosts xx

Needed an affordable place, near to the city for a few days and this ticked all the boxes. Vera and Stan were lovely hosts, always willing to help and sort any issues. Short distance to the beach was a bonus.

We had a relaxing stay, the outdoor bath was really nice. Not far from the beach and the shops which was handy. Would recommend to others :)

It was very a very cool set up with a great little kitchen and bathroom as well as the retro airstream - Russell is a cute place so we had a great time

In short, one of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed at (and we have been to quite a few). My partner and I spend 2 weeks in the Best Island Bus and had the most amazing time. We honestly barely left the property because we enjoyed it so much! The location is beautiful and so calming - your stress is immediately gone as you hang in the hammock and watch the birds in the trees. It was the best place to disconnect and rest. The bus is fully equipped and so well done - has everything you could want! Simon and Clare are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. You can tell how much love and thought they have put into this place and they go above and beyond for their guests. Would recommend this to everyone! We would come back in a heartbeat and were sad to leave.

Lovely welcoming hosts and very pleasant stay. Our 2 year old absolutely loved seeing the chickens every day, and the eggs were a very thoughtful addition. Thanks.

Our third stay at Pinnacle Heights, we love it and plan to keep coming back! Such a beautiful and peaceful spot, we set up a waterslide for the kids, lots of space for tents and running around. The garden gets more spectacular every year.

Perfect and peaceful stay! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place in a cute campervan. Place was exactly as the pictures along with all the amenities listed. Enjoyed our stay here :)

Really friendly hosts, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Pictures match the description, it’s a lovely cosy small home. The location is also great, just a 30 minute drive to Lake Tekapo!
