Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

The District 5 Schoolhouse was historically built "with not a single nail in the structure" in the 1800's. It still stands as a symbol of dedication to craftsmanship and community. Lovingly restored, preserving as much of the original soul as possible, it promises to be a luxury stay in understated sophistication with 100% linen sheets, beautiful kitchen/dining, lovely private outdoor space, tranquil idyllic work/recharge areas, and enough space to make your own history. Enjoy the peace & quiet as you sit around the fire pit or relax on the outdoor patio that's fully furnished with furniture and a charcoal grill. Come enjoy your stay as you take advantage of the local wine tours, nearby Lake MI. beaches and the county parks.

Farm Cottage

Sweet cottage on our farm: Fully equipped kitchen and furnished living/sleeping area 14’x15' approx., washer/dryer. Sleeps 4: queen bed and queen sofa bed. Lots of privacy and next to organic garden, fields, stable and fruit orchards. All utilities, TV and WI-FI included. Well water with new water softener and water heater. Pet friendly; no pet fee. Lots of farm paths to walk your pet. Encourage off leash if trained. Horses have moved to another farm while pasture and stable rehabbed.

Retro pink ceramic tiles line an open-plan main floor surrounded by sliding doors. You will be surrounded by the great outdoors while sitting cozy inside by our electric fireplace. Located about 10 minutes south of downtown St. Joe, our Idyllic A-frame is a perfect location for the escape to SW Michigan that you've been dreaming about.

Perfect place if you seek peace & quiet - play a record, hit the hot tub, read a book in screened in porch or hammock, hang out by the firepit or jump on one of the 4 bikes! So close to boutiques, coffee shops and cute restaurants!

The Beachcomber suite upstairs is a one bedroom with a queen bed. A small dining area is off the kichenette. Kitchen includes a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and electricl griddle. Full size refrigerator. Bathroom has a full size bathtub and shower. Unit has been completely remodeled and updated with new furniture, fixtures, and appliances. This is a SECOND FLOOR suite accessed from the front entryway of the home. Owners live on the main floor. No pets allowed.

Beautiful self contained private guest house right on shore of Lake Chapin. Big Bedroom overlooking the lake. Extra sleeping space for 6 people. Large bathroom. Updated 2021 new carpet & kitchen with granite, stainless stove, & Sink. Lake Chapin is all sport lake with good fishing, bring the boat and water toys or forget bringing anything and enjoy the lakeside fire pit, paddle boat and kayaks that we provide. Stocked with linens, towels, kitchenware, charcoal grill.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Nestled among the trees, it provides a quiet getaway from the chaos of life allowing you to recharge and renew. The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.

The Shire

Nestled on five secluded, tree-lined acres, with a pond, waterfall, fire pit, tree swing, basketball court and walking trails, The Shire feels a million miles away from it all - but isn't! We are only minutes away from wineries, breweries, amazing beaches, restaurants and shopping. (Notre Dame is an easy 30 minute drive). Southwest Michigan is a beautiful place to live! We'd LOVE to share it with you.
