Arrive at the wonderful space we have created for a peaceful relaxing stay. Sit on the deck or in the spa and enjoy a gorgeous sunset with a glass of wine listening to the bird song. The spaces include a well-appointed kitchen, warm and inviting living area. Separate bedroom with a comfy queen bed. A sofa bed is available for a third guest or sleeping separate. Dromore Downs is a modern farm homestead nestled in a picturesque country setting just minutes from Ashburton and a 1 hour drive from Christchurch. Spacious and stylish this property is perfect if you are looking for a restful country experience, travelling, skiing at the Mt Hutt Ski Field or exploring the countryside which includes 'Edoras' (Mt Sunday), Lord of the Rings filming location. This well equipped property is also perfect for business stays.

Country Escape

My place is close to great views of the Southern Alps and away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a peaceful country escape. 10 mins to Darfield & 20 mins to Rolleston, and 30 mins to Christchurch or Christchurch airport. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). We are only a few minutes away from the hot air ballooning and an hour from the ski fields. The nearest golf course is only 5 mins down the road with several others available in the Selwyn district.

Darfield: Homebush School Cottage

Homebush Cottage is part of the 130 year old former Homebush School, located on the Southern Scenic Route, 8kms from Darfield township and close to popular Skifields, Lakes and amazing tourist destinations, thus making us the perfect stopover. The cottage is set on 3 acres including beautiful rambling gardens and tennis court. The Cottage is super comfy and suitable for a couple. We provide a self catering continental breakfast including free range eggs from Brown Shavers !!!
