Our stay at the "school" was wonderful! The location was quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of room inside with two floors for a family of 8 to spread out and be comfortable. Dorothea is especially welcoming of groups with kids and provides lots of activities indoors and out. The 6 adults in our group had everything we needed and more. We have enjoyed the Winneshiek-Allamakee County area for over 40 years and finding this new home-away-from-home is great!

This was the perfect country setting to disconnect and recharge. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Outside, we were surrounded by trees, the sound of birds, and a running stream nearby. We loved spending the day just sitting on the wrap around porch and taking nature in. Thank you for making our stay the recharge we needed!

Hygge Haus is a wonderful find! We have been traveling to Decorah for ever 6 years now - making multiple trips per year. Hygge Haus ranks right up there! We loved the distance from the main street, and yet it is easily walkable, and absolutely enjoyable in good weather. Hosts clearly think of every detail, and succeed in making you feel comfortable and at home. Lots of clear instructions and notes. The back garden is a nice little retreat as well. We would definitely recommend to anyone.

Beautiful updated, cozy home. Fantastic kitchen and bathrooms. Very clean. Nice location, very peaceful setting in the woods. Many thoughtful touches that made us feel welcomed. House manager even left a nice note and homemade treat upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay in Decorah. We went for a run on the Trout Run trail. It was just beautiful, and we were within walking distance to the grocery store and our favorite coffee shop (Impact Coffee). An excellent location and nearby Luthor College to watch the track meet that our daughter was competing in...love this house.

We stayed at Reds Retreat to celebrate the Spring Birthdays in our extended family. There was plenty of room for everyone and the bonus garage/rec space worked great for games at night and private office for those who still needed to work in the morning. Once parked we were able to walk everywhere. We walked to restaurants, shops, breweries, bike rental place, ice cream and bowling. The kitchen had everything we needed and no one ever had to wait for 1 of the 4 bathrooms. 10/10 Recommend.

Great stay. Location was quiet. I wish we would’ve gotten to stay in the warmer months. I’m sure the views would’ve been even better and the outside space would be great for that. The inside was clean, newly redone when I stayed (from my untrained eye). The welcome sweets were a nice touch! Paula’s instructions for access, parking and everything else were clear and concise. We were fishing and Paula accommodated our need to clean fish in a space that wouldn’t otherwise been available. She did not have to do that for us, but she did. She picked up when I called to inquire about it too. She’s a super-superhost! Don’t hesitate to book her listings. Highly recommended!

Michelle has a great space that is thoughtfully decorated and well appointed. Above all she was very flexible with our check out time, which was very helpful for our schedule. Would highly recommend!

We needed to book a place at the last minute because the other airbnb owner where our family had book changed their policy the week of our trip from pet-friendly to NO PETS. We have a puppy and had to either cancel the trip or find another location. Laurie's place is dog-friendly and adorable! It was a lovely place to stay during our annual family trout fishing trip to NE Iowa in the area northeast of Decorah. Laurie and her husband were delightful and friendly. We will definitely come back!

Norma Jean & Daryl are welcoming, kind hosts with an absolutely beautiful property! They were attentive to our safety as there was winter weather and helpful at every turn. My friend & I were celebrating a milestone birthday and had a perfect stay at their place.

we started a long weekend away at The Flats, and it was perfect! Trish even reached due to the winter storm they were receiving to let us know they'd have the driveway plowed as soon as the snow stopped! Highly recommended Host!

Dawn went above any beyond to make my stay comfortable. We were in town for a celebration of life service and she was very caring and helpful. The unit is charming, comfortable and stocked with anything you might need!

We loved our weekend stay. Jessica's place was clean, comfy and relaxing in a nice, quiet, newly developed part of town. Great communication. Will definitely try to stay there again on our next Decorah visit.

Kaleen’s place is a perfect spot in Decorah. Short walk to downtown and a lovely home to return to. Bonus fire pit and back patio! We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
