The Great Lakes: albergues

We've stayed there before, so knew what to expect: an informal, comfortable, outdoorsy, a little scruffy vibe that's a good value in a great location. Steve is very accommodating and personable, and as before, we also enjoyed visiting with our fellow guests.

Very clean, lots of activities (books/puzzles/DVDs etc. Nice to be off line for a while. We could see (and hear) lots of fireworks on the 4th. We never saw any staff, yet everything was done.

Very great place to stay in a pinch and great place overall. definitely great if its just you.

Great hostel! Has everything that you need and the location is great. The front desks people were so kind. Would come back.

Always love staying at the HHH! This is my 6th or 7th time, and definitely wont be my last. I always look forward to staying at the hostel as much as the rest of my trip. Its one of the most affordable spots near Grand Marais which is whole heartedly appreciated, especially by single travelers on a budget like myself. Keep doing what youre doing! Cant wait for the next time around 😎

What a cool spot! I loved all that is happening on the land, and the comfort of the hostel. We were there with only one other couple, so it was a privilege to have the place mostly to ourselves!

It was great! Had some issues getting in originally because the automated message didnt come through but, that was no fault of theirs. :) The bar downstairs was helpful in getting us in. Lovely place, will definitely have to come again in the summer.

The Boardwalk home suites are really cozy. Entire house was spick and span. The housekeepers visit every morning and maintain the place. The team is very responsive. There is a really nice park right behind the property. Calm and peaceful surrounding. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Always my favorite place to stay when I head up the North Shore! Thank you for creating this wonderful space!
