Namib Desert: eco lodge

Perfect postcard and not "only" a stop over night but a stunning and classy farm, full of charm and taste, not mentioning the kindness and care of Laura and of Jenny. The dinner was VIP and the breakfast too. The airbnb we want to see more! Highly recommended, zero default.

I booked the accommodation for my team who were needed in Sun City for some event setups. They said the pace was amazing with so many sights and activities, I highly recommend this accommodation Gier was a fantastic host too.

We had a great stay at the Thorntree house! Our first evening we ate dinner while a hippo strolled around the garden! The house is conveniently located near the Falls. Claire helped us organize activities and dinners and Ben was super helpful!

We were so excited to get to Swamp Stop after a long drive from Maun. We felt very relaxed and were treated with a view of. River otter and crocodile within the first few hours. The staff was efficient and the food delicious. We recommend the kingklip. The room was adequate and very nice to have aircon and a fridge. However, the water was full of silt, making bathing difficult. We were told this was a problem they were working on. The true highlight was our two day trip to the delta from Swamp stop. It started with a beautiful boat trip down the Okavango river with Pepere island our destination. The island was home to elephants, baboons, hippos and a variety of amazing birds. We were blessed to have the best guide ever. . Frog was raised in the delta and was able to identify all birds, animal tracks, trees and plants. He took us on a Mokoro ride to a neighboring island and led us on a wonderful bush walk. He was able to spot animals in the bush way before we could. We recommend Swamp Stop as a moderately price alternative for seeing the delta. Thanks to Lance, for suggesting the trip to the island.

We’ve stayed in 6 other accommodations over the past weeks and this one was the best, especially the shower🤪The view was amazing and there are multiple swimming pools. The hosts (and their dog😉) were really friendly and we had an amazing braai dinner, with fair prices, at their restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. Perfect stop when you travel from North to South or the other way around.

It is a wonderful stayover with a grand view of the Gariep Dam. Staying here allows you to refresh on a long journey, take in some incredible views of the Gariep Dam, and experience a little history of South Africa. You have several ways to relax with amenities on-site, like the pool, hot tub, and restaurant.

Very clean and comfortable. Indoor pool was welcome after a long day on the road. Great view of the dam. Great place to stay on the way to or from the Eastern or Western Cape.

Tonga House is a beautiful place to unwind and have relaxing time! All was very clean, comfortable and perfect for our little family. Also Msuna Island is a special and wonderful place to stay! Only a bit sad that the river was almost dry on our side of the island, we are hoping it comes back to its natural state...

The view is just breathtaking! Moreover we had dinner at the owners wonderful restaurant. We got some nice meet, great salads and the best self-made chips that we ever had. Thank you for the stay! 🥰

Exceptionally friendly staff. Good dinner recommendations. The garden has to be seen to be believed. Finding a garden like that in a city was a pleasant surprise. We had a large group of 8 and were fit inbperfectly.

Beautiful lodge by the Zambezi. Great value for money. Communication with Wayne went very smooth - Wayne is very friendly, responsive and accomodating. We were hosted by Charity and team who were most welcoming. We very much enjoyed the vegetarian meals she prepared for us. A unique place we would definitely recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kokolofitwe, located just outside of Vredefort, and I can't help but recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. The host was incredibly responsive and welcoming, making the entire experience smooth from start to finish. It's set in a peaceful area with local wildlife, providing a disconnect from the constant buzz of city life. In short, if you're in search of a peaceful escape with a touch of adventure and the comforts of home, I highly recommend a stay at Kokolofitwe.
