Welcome to the Windsong Casita! (On IG @windsongcasita) Our little adobe house is overlooked by an array of 14,000 ft mountains: Mt. Antero, Shavano, Princeton & Tabeguache. We have been coming to Chaffee County, for 15 years and decided it was time to carve out a spot of our own. Soak up the morning sun and delicious views with a cup of coffee before you head out for your mountain biking, Monarch Skiing, or day hikes. Return home for sunset chats on the patio. Curl up w/ a book & chill.

Stenhuset: Stunning Historic "1877 Stone House"

The historic Stenhuset (Swedish for "the Stone House") was built in 1877 by Swedish stonemasons. Designed by Victoria and Brian Freeman, Stenhuset is bursting with modern-day amenities, while retaining its historic 19th-century charm within original historic 24-inch-thick stone walls, much like a castle. Repurposed cabinets create a tidy kitchen near the living/dining areas on the main level. Two large bedroom suites offer king-size beds with Casper mattresses, ensuite bathrooms and Smart TVs.

Accessible only by 4x4/AWD (snow chains required in winter), it features a lofted bedroom with skylight, kitchen, hot-water bathroom, main room with 270-degree glass windows and large private deck. Be prepared for small spaces and lots of stairs with breathtaking views of the Uintas that are nothing short of spectacular!

Explore the surrounding woods, relax on the spacious deck and take in the stars, and plan adventures in nearby Lawrence and at Perry Lake Inside the home, curl up in a peaceful corner to enjoy a book, challenge family and friends to various games in the rec room, and enjoy meals from the modern kitchen with all the amenities.

Straw Clay Cabin on a Sustainable Farm

This Earthen house is made of sand, straw and clay. Nestled in a valley it is a peaceful and unique getaway. The cabin has four comfortable single beds and electricity, a wood stove for winter. Outside a fire pit and grill. A hand washing sink inside; and port-o-let toilet outside. You may be able to drive in (weather/road condition depending).
