Black Monarch #4: The Black Annise

The Black Monarch was re-built after a fire in 1899 as a brothel, casino, and saloon. It is a storied slice of Victorian era Americana , nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountain gold rush city of Victor, Colorado. The building is exquisite in its design and well preserved with original windows, doors, tin ceilings, and stairs. Local legend states that the building is haunted by the ghost of a miner who died in a gunfight, and was originally wired by electrical genius Nikola Tesla.

The Woodsman Suite

A third floor suite, facing the river with the train tracks only a couple blocks away. It took 2 months to do the ceiling. Carefully polished and placed the old lath in a specific design, the ceiling is a work of art. Eighty percent of the material used in this room is from re purposed lumber, either from this building or from a childhood barn built in the late 1800's. It will take you a while to notice every detail down to the toilet paper holder which is from an old barn post.

Old Corner Sunrise Room

The old Wyoming Motel has been recently renovated into the Old Corner Station B&B, paying homage to the historical building next to it. The Sunrise room accommodates up to 2 people in a queen bed and small bathroom. Located near Devils Tower it's the perfect stop to rest before continuing your views in the Black Hills area.
