We had a wonderful stay! The beds were super comfortable, the view of the river was beautiful, and it was so peaceful and quiet. The hot tub was a great bonus, and the hosts were very responsive and thoughtful — they even offered firewood, s'mores kits, and emergency toiletries in case you forgot anything. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, and the place was very clean. There were a few hornet nests around the property (we picked up some spray), and being near the water, there were some gnats — but nothing a little bug spray and a small fire couldn't fix! Tip for future guests: the coffee maker is a Keurig style, so bring your favorite K-cups or your own coffee setup. Also, there are caverns, golf courses, and plenty of restaurants within about 20 minutes. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing getaway!

Great house! As others have said, the pictures don’t do it justice. The property is very peaceful and private with beautiful scenery. We had a relaxing time at the house and enjoyed the hot tub and the game room. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from in town, only about ten minutes away. The hosts were helpful and very responsive. Very much enjoyed the stay!

We had a great time and enjoyed this pretty home! Very comfortable for two families of four and the host was helpful and accommodating. Pretty Mountain views, fun board games and nice outdoor space makes it a nice spot for a relaxing country visit. Grocery stores and local attractions are a short 10-20 minute drive away. Would recommend larger cars or suvs for the drive up the mountain especially in the winter!

very friendly host and very engaging, warm space. enjoyed several amenities and was very easy to get settled in. although they're are plenty of bathrooms, keep in mind 2 of them are stationed in the game room. snacks aren't free, although they did provide free one for valentine. Host were very accommodating and communicative and great host.

A gorgeous location tucked back in the mountains. Comfortable beds and great showers. Would recommend to anyone going to the area.

My family and I very much enjoyed our weekend stay at the Cypress House. It is conveniently located just a half hour from Harrisonburg and James Madison University, its close to the Massanutten resort area, and close to the Luray caverns. Pet friendly was a plus for us and there is a large yard for you and the pet to enjoy. The house itself is charming with hardwood floors throughout. Main bathroom with tub and shower is located on the second floor. The kitchen has modern appliances and has a Keurig to use as well. Parking for about 3 or 4 cars should you need it. Host was very communicative and the overall process was very smooth. I would definitely look to stay here again, especially if I were looking to take advantage of all of the outdoor offerings in the area. Also a great option for JMU families during those busy weekends!

The place was beautiful. It was a bit hard to find but we eventually found it. Everything was clean and even had extras of everything. The view was absolutely perfect and it was a quiet place. The rooms were a bit hot, though.

Cindy's place was very peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I felt right at home. The decor was bright & cheery. The kitchen had everything we needed. All of the furnishings were very comfortable. The only negative thing I can say is, our time there was too short! We would definitely like to return for a longer stay. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

Kristen and Chris' place is a hidden gem! The unit was comfortable, spacious, private and exceptionally clean. It was conveniently located to many shops and restaurants as well JMU's campus. There was ample street parking. While it is a basement apartment in an older home, I could barely hear anyone walking upstairs. I highly recommend their place and will be staying there again!

This was the perfect place for my family to stop in the night to rest - felt safe and quiet. The place had everything we needed too. When we woke up we were in awe of how gorgeous the area was. Definitely recommend!

We loved staying here while visiting our college student in Front Royal. Location was great, snacks were very thoughtful and coffee options were nice. There was Kuerig, Nespresso, and a french press. Cute decor. Thank you for the hospitality, will visit here again.

This property was fantastic! Set on the outskirts of Elkton, we were able to quickly get into the Shenandoah National Park for some hiking and walk into town for a great dinner. Everything about the property was beautiful and impressive - it was extremely clean, spacious, and coxy. We visited over the weekend and couldn't even tell that we were below an optometry office. And the bunk beds easily fit adults and added a little extra fun (and brought back old memories) to our adventure! Ruth provided everything that we could have possibly needed and more. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area!

Paula’s place is just as described - spacious and welcoming! Very clean and has everything you would need during your stay. Easy to find and 10mins from JMU (we were there to visit with our son). Paula is a very friendly and responsive host. Would definitely stay here again!

Magical and peaceful place, right on the riverbank. Surrounded by nature. We went kayaking and had a wonderful time. Great location, close to Shenandoah National Park, the caverns, and just 6 minutes from Walmart. We’ll definitely be back!

such a charming little place to stay on our way back down from massachussets. we stated for 2 days to rest before heading back down to Georgia. We left feeling refreshed. The house was so cozy and private. The hot tub was an amazing addition to wrap up our vacation. We especially loved how comfortable the pillows and bed was in the master, and the fact that there was black out curtains throughout the house so we didn't have to wake up early to the brightness. Our 3 year old absolutely loved the rock river too!!

This cabin was wonderful! So cozy, nice touches, clean, great amenities! Definitely one of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in. On top of that, Sherilynn was very accommodating of our schedule and needs with a baby. We had such a nice stay.

Our family had the best time here! Loved the yurt! There is a creek across the street that the children played in, we fished in the pond, played baseball in the meadow, had a campfire under the stars. The beds were super comfortable, we enjoyed the privacy and the beauty of the area. We hope to go back and stay longer next time! Well appointed kitchen, super clean home, responsive host, beautiful views through the many windows, private stay yet close to activities. It’s a gem, for sure!

We have used the same cabin for years and totally enjoy our stay every time. Two things I wanted to mention. The morning of our last day I noticed some water on the floor around the toilet. We wiped it up and didn’t notice any more before we left a short time later. The other thing is I grabbed a knife one morning to make sandwiches with. We needed to buy some jelly on the way to go fishing and make sandwiches when we got there. I accidentally left the knife in the plastic bag that ended coming home with me. We loved this gorgeous cabin in the woods with the sweetest bear-themed decor. It was really well-equipped so we could cook our own meals and Marty and Mellanie were great communicators who suggested a few nice hikes. The only downside was the crazy number of bugs! Be sure to bring the bug spray and it's not super pleasant sitting outside because of that so be warned.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin in the woods! The home was thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the screened-in porch and the fire pit. Sitting outside by the fire late into the night was a highlight of our trip. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked with every gadget, appliance, and piece of glassware you could possibly need. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and had all the little touches that made it feel like home. The location was also great, just a 10-minute drive to New Market with some cute shops and restaurants, and only 15 minutes from the Yellow Cliff mountain overlook. The hike was a challenge, but the views were absolutely breathtaking and well worth it. Communication with the host was excellent throughout, and it’s clear they put a lot of care into making this cabin a special place. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat in nature!
