Hill House Garuda is situated in a beautiful part of Toraja where the mountain air is cool and the breeze in the evening means you sleep well. We slept on the new queen sized bed which was very comfortable. Agus and her two lovely young children looked after our needs - supplying breakfast and dinner on request - always with a smile. Ayub, who speaks excellent English picked us up at the airport and was our very informative guide for the next two days. We learned so much about Torajan culture and were lucky to see a wedding and also attend a funeral. We bought food in the market to cook the very special Pa’Piong which Ayub is very proficient at. It’s cooked in bamboo over an open fire and tastes delicious. If you want to experience living in a quiet place out of town with beautiful locals to look after you we highly recommend.

Yakobus and his son Yansen were great hosts and always helpful with every question! The apartment is very central but at the same time like a small wonderful oasis in the jungle. In addition, Yansen‘s wife is a fantastic cook! I am really happy to come back and enjoy the awesome tours with Yakobus :-) Highly recommend the stay!

Meyskes place is wonderful. The space is so nice to relax and chat with other guests. The food they offer is very tasty with a big variety. The best about the place are the hosts, not only Meyske also her mother are such good persons who help you out with everything you need. Even tho Meyske was not around when I stayed there she called me to give me a very good overview about what to explore in that area. Highly recommend to visit!

Ihastuin välittömästi, kun saavuin kohteeseeni! Wilanda otti minut lämpimästi vastaan ja kantoi laukkuni huoneeseeni. Heti tämän jälkeen Wila keitti minulle Torajan parasta kahvia! yllätyksenä minulle tuli kun kuulin että kohteessa on perinteinen suomalainen sauna, arvostan tätä paljon. helpoksi olemiseni teki myös se että Wilanda puhuu myös hyvää englantia! Wilan äiti oli lämmin ja herttainen. Wilanda oli todella hyvä matkanjohtaja ja kertoi minulle kaiken mitä halusin kuulla ja vähän enemmänki. Tämä kohde oli minulle kuin toinen koti! Suosittelen.

The stay at Panorama Homestay was very good. Yakobus and his family are very friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was also good. The double bedroom has a nice bathroom, but the bathroom of the twin bedroom hasn't a propper sink. Thank you very much for the stay at your place.

This was a lovely place to stay, clean, amazing views out over the terrace where you sit for breakfast of the rice paddies and the surrounding hills. The breakfast is also amazing, filling and tasty. It was so relaxing to sit and enjoy while sitting outside. Yohan is a local guide who is available through the homestay and I highly highly recommend. He took us on a tour of Rantepao for the local Torajan history and heritage. He made it so interesting and he is a lovely lively character and I felt lucky to have him as a guide. I’m sure it wouldn’t have quite been the same with someone else. We also walked to the top of the local mountain with stunning views of the rice paddies and Rantepao in the valley

Ons verblijf was geweldig! Het contact met Willanda is geweldig. Hij reageert snel. Heeft heel veel goede tips en weet (als een guide) alles van Tana Toraja. Ook kun je bij hem terecht voor een gezellig praatje. Het was erg fijn dat Willanda zo flexibel was. Ondanks het vroege tijdstip dat we aankwamen, konden we toch al inchecken en direct naar ons huisje toe. Het huisje was top! Het is een mooi tiny-house achtige constructie, met een slaapkamer en een klein badkamertje. Enige wat misschien wat prettig zou zijn, is een zitruimte in het huisje zelf. Hier zou, evt. op de bovenverdieping zeker ruimte voor kunnen zijn. Gelukkig is er wel een fijne zitruimte bij het koffiezaakje van Willanda. Hier kun je o.a koffie en een biertje bestellen. De locatie is prima. Je zit aan een wat drukkere weg, maar daar heb je niet zoveel last van. Ook zijn er wat restaurants te vinden, maar de meeste zijn echter 5-10min rijden met de scooter (centrum). 100% aanrader Willanda, bedankt voor alles!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Ne' Pakku Manja Family home, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family and treated to an unforgettable experience. The accommodation is beautifully designed with every detail thoughtfully curated. The incredible shower made from an upturned coconut shell was a unique touch! Meyske's food was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Every meal was a culinary delight. The private 2-day tour with Meyske was inspiring, emotional, and incredibly informative. Meyske's deep knowledge and passion for the local culture left us in awe. We learned so much. In conclusion, this stay exceeded all our expectations. The exceptional hospitality, stunning accommodation, and enriching tour made it an experience we will treasure forever. Highly recommended!
