O que você fará

In this tour I will take you to Lao Chai village, a beautiful local minority village based approximately 13 km outside of Sapa. We start trekking in Sapa and the first part of this hike we will be walking downhill. From the main road a small path will lead us into the Muong Hoa valley.

In Y Linh Ho, a charming little town inhabited by the Hmong minority, we will cross the bridge. From here the road goes up and down. We will walk over the edges of the rice fields in the shadow of the mighty Fansipan-mountain which is right behind us. We will cross some hills before we enter the village of Lao Chai, one of the oldest and largest Hmong villages in the area.

From Lao Chai we will walk to Ta Van Village where we will overnight, mostly inhabited by the Giay and Hmong ethnic minorities. If it is the right time of the year you can see the people planting rice or harvesting it. We will learn you all about the differences between the ethnic minority groups.

When we reach the homestay you can walk around in the village OR join the family cook dinner.

We had a great time with Bao. Although, the weather was very misty and we couldn't see much the next day, Bao was very helpful and answered all of our questions during the trek. The homestay was phenomenal, we had great time at the house and met a lot of new people as well as learned more about the tribe in the village we were staying. Would definitely recommend this experience!

The experience over all was very nice. My husband and I were trekking with the other 4 tourists. The first day was a real challenge: it rained the day before, so an already challenging trail got extremely slippery. We also didn't see anything due to the fog. Of course, none of these is a fault of the guide :) My husband fell down pretty hard on the trek. It all turned out ok (except his shoulder was swollen and he couldn't carry his backpack). However, it made me wonder what the plan was if something was really broken. Homestay was good but not really authentic - it is a recently built house with a lot of rooms for tourists. Sihn and his brother joined us for dinner and we had nice time. Some of the other people who stayed with us booked this experience directly in one of the hotels of Sapa, and it turns out we paid twice the price. Not sure how to feel about it.

Was such an amazing experience! A good route, although could be very steep at times. Constantly surrounded by great views, a lovely homestay and very warming guides, we had Sinh’s siblings, very chatty and constantly made us feel safe and well looked after! Would recommend

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The weather was foggy and wet but it didn't dampen how amazing the landscape and people are. Chu was very aware of the track, making sure that I was fine along the way and really caring for me. She was more than happy to answer any questions I had and gave my a good insight to how she or others live life daily. The homestay was very comfortable and good to talk to everyone.

This experience was absolutely wonderful and something I would highly recommend to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the Sapa villages. Our hosts were incredibly kind and generous, making sure we were always comfortable. The food was amazing and the facilities within the home were very comfortable. There was a hot shower, a comfortable and warm bed, and accomodating hosts. We hiked in February and it was still cool with the weather, but if you are hiking around this time then prepare for there to be mud. I only wore old runners and I was sliding all over the place so make sure you have appropriate footwear! You will also have people follow you through the tour who will try and sell you things. Do not feel obligated to buy anything, you can tell them to leave if you need. Other than this, it was overall an amazing experience! 10/10!

An adventure like no other. If you are looking for an adventure, a little bit of hard work, and a unique experience, then do this trip. We ended up being given a tour with Tsu (Sinh’s sister) who made this experience incredible. She was incredibly kind and helpful. She walked us through the rice paddies with ease. She is very petite, but very strong and was a life saver when trekking through the rougher terrain. We got to meet her children at the homestay and her husband, which was great fun. The homestay itself was clean and unique. The food along the way was fine, but the dinner at the homestay was great. This trek is a bit like being at home, Tsu’s son even joined us for the last leg of the hike which was really fun. Overall, this was a great experience and we would do it again. Tsu and her family made our time with them a true joy! A few tips from our experience: 1. Dress for the weather! It was quite cold when we went and we wish we had brought some warmer clothes. 2. Book your own bus ticket to Sapa early! Sinh was unable to book the bus for us in time which made getting to Sapa stressful. 3. There will be women who join the trek to help you get through the tougher terrain. Then they will try to sell you things at the end. We ended up buying a few things at an up charged price. Given this is how a lot of them make their living we didn’t mind too much. We bought some things, but one woman was upset when we didn’t get anything from her. Just be aware that you can say no. Tsu was helpful in explaining this. But you can also pick up some cool stuff along the way if you want to spend the money.
