Birken House is located above a home based bakery in the grounds of a 110-year old farmhouse, and is rumoured to be the location of an original stagecoach stop on the Douglas Trail. The suite is south facing, with tasteful decor and big folding doors opening on to an awesome view . It's rustic but contemporary; airy in summer and cosy in winter. Julia’s Suite features a full kitchen. An adjoining (Buds Lounge Suite) can also be rented for up to four additional guests. Holmwood Farm is a very scenic property with great views and lots of hiking and x country ski trails. It is home to a small flock of sheep, and cows which are grazed regeneratively. . You will have access to fresh vegetables from our garden in the summer months , and free range eggs, pastured meats and locally sourced gifts from our farm store.

Whatever brings you, a peaceful solo retreat or couples get away, this historic tiny home is setup to satisfy, gas fireplace, windows that open & screen door. Modernized in 2020 with full bathroom and kitchenette, it’s a vast change from when my Grandfather built it for shelter from the harsh prairie winters. The logs were harvested over 100 years ago in the Saddlehills and brought to this working family grain farm. Now it’s all play & relax!
