Enjoy great views and sunsets at this popular sheltered beach, 10minutes walk from The Studio. As part of the marine reserve the sea life can be amazing here, right in the shallows. The Blue Cod can get large and are very friendly, so watch your toes! Swimming is safer here than Houghton Bay, though there is no life guard.

A wild south coast beach that is a popular summer spot for its tucked away feeling. Rugged and moody but a great swim to boot.

Good for swimming when there are northerly winds. A nice little sheltered spot that gets late afternoon sun. Good for an afternoon picnic.

One of the best sunsets by the beach in town. Great swimming beach sheltered from the northerly winds

This is the closest and BEST swimming beach to here. More interesting than Lyall Bay for swimming as has rocky outcrops and more scenic etc. Also part of Marine Reserve. Has toilets and cold showers
