Ben's Best Kosher Delicatessen

This old-school kosher gourmet deli has been serving Rego Park in Queens forever. With salami hanging in the windows, it looks like the New York deli you picture in your head: bare bones, brightly lit, nothing fancy. The waiters are rude, and that’s part of the charm. It’s a little disheveled, and that’s part of the charm, too. The fried kreplach—dumplings—are amazing. And don’t forget about the standards: I go with a corned beef on rye or a pastrami on rye. Can’t go wrong with either of those.
