The Danger Point lighthouse was commissioned on 1 January 1895 after the tragic sinking of the HMS Birkenhead Troopship, on the dreadful night of 26 February 1852. This amazing building with its three light flashes every 40 seconds is open to the public weekdays from 10 am till 3 pm. Not only will you be able to view this wonderful structure, but you can climb up into the tower soaring 18,3 meters in the sky. You will be able to view the source of the astonishing light beam intensity of 4750 000 candlelight.
