The track in front of YCC1870 ends at the light house… 7km 10 mins by car Australia’s 3rd oldest lighthouse . It is powerful, rugged and well worth getting out of your car to explore . Low Head Lighthouse & Foghorn Sounded each Sundy at noon. The Foghorn was installed in 1929 It is the only operational G-type diaphone in the world. The building also houses a very rare Gardner kerosene engine. Enjoy the beautiful sea views from the headland and feel free to have a chat with the volunteers in attendance every Sunday at noon.

Worth the drive to Georgetown and then Low Head, (locals call it Blow Head, as it seems to be a windy spot). The lighthouse has good views from the carpark. On Sundays round midday you can hear the sound the foghorn.
