The Handsome Sam is one of a handful of local micro-pub which sells great ales. It is small and cosy and very friendly.

On Canterbury Road, this is a lovely cosy and welcoming micropub in a former shop. Named after the owner's cat which died exactly four years before the pub's opening date of 4th November 2014. There is always a pale/light ale, a copper type ale and a stronger one, as well as local ciders, including fruit-flavoured ones. Old Hector is a regular house beer brewed exclusively for the pub by Four Candles. Wines, champagne, Prosecco, mead, soft drinks, tea, coffee and pub snacks are also offered.

The local. Great specialist beer and cider place, little, no music but great chat. Chris the landlord is so friendly and helpful.
