Paddle your way through the history of Bergen in a kayak. In historical enironments at the Norwegian Museum of Fisheries in Sandvikens harbor area you can paddle along boathouses and veteran boats. You will see and learn about the history of Bergen as a seafarer city and the importance of Stockfish. The trip takes you back to the 1600s in Bergen.

The norwegian museum of fishery is located in our neighbourhood and offers a review of a very important part of the history of Bergen and Norway. Fish has been and is a cornerstone in our economy, and the rich ocean has been a blessing for survival in our harsh and rural country. The trade of fish was the starting point for Bergens growth and prosperity, and a visit to the museum will give you a piece of this story! The museum has lots of activities for both children and adults. After your visit to the museum you should of course enjoy a small fjord cruise with the Beffen boat that takes you from Skuteviken to the fish market in the center of Bergen (takes about 20 minutes by boat).
