If you want to see some elephants either this place or actually we tend to go to the Monsoon Valley where they have some elephants as well and we combine it with lunch and stunning views.

This is simply a wonderful activity especially with young children in tow. This charity takes in abused and sick elephants and brings them back to life in a natural habitat. Despite the picture here, rides are no longer allowed since it is known they damage the elephant's back. But instead, for a small fee (all of which goes straight to the care of the elephants) you can take a short walk alongside one of these gorgeous creatures, hose it down and feed it bananas while a volunteer guide tells you all you ever need to know. Just a 7-minute drive away, you can either drive yourself or take a tuktuk. Highly recommended.

The Hutsadin Elephant foundation was created to rescue abandoned elephants. They run an educational seminar on Asian elephants at 10AM and 12PM Mon, Wed, Fri and Saturday and costs 300 baht, under 5 is free. They also offer elephant washing, riding and walking for between 400 for washing and 800 to 1200 baht for walking or riding. Please be careful around elephants, they are very large, powerful animals and can be unpredictable at times. The foundation is a non-profit organisation and any funds received directly benefit the elephants. Please contact Hutsadin directly for more info.
