This is a rustic campsite on the bank of the Nicola river. Although less than 10mins to town and all its amenities, you are out in the peace and quiet of the Nicola Valley. Immersed in the fresh air, surrounded by trees, birds and the bubbling river. Merritt is a great base for your outdoor adventure. Whether it be on the many lakes fishing, paddling or swimming, exploring the trails by foot or bike, or heading out hunting, there is something for everyone in this neck of the woods.
Imagine if you will a historic building...over a 100 years old. The street side is The Packing House, a café. The majestic Thompson river 50 paces away to "The Lookout"...a beautiful space created by locals. The next door is a small country convenience store...keep going the next door is the town Post Office. The final door is to the house. Two bedrooms, one bath and walls with pictures that tell the stories. You will stay in the building where Widow Smith packed the Grimes Golden apple!
A one-room cozy cabin with bunk beds, a private porch and a small parking space. Beautiful view. Ideal for motor bikers, cyclists, tenters or people looking for a unique B&B. Great for those rainy nights when you don't want to set up your tent or just need a clean quiet place to sleep. There is no electricity but there is a shared flush bathroom and cold water. Linens, bedding, pillows, towels, basic tableware and utensils are provided. There are no hot showers. This cabin is closed for winter.
