Fast food at second circle, just a 2 minute walk away. Swarm joint with take away only. Cheap as chips, and delicious! Fight the locals to get yours.

Beirut and Damascus seem to battle it out for the cuisine capital of the Middle East. This is a taste of Syria. Great food, cosy place to eat, and nice service.

Ask the people of Amman where the best falafel shop is, and you'll get a heated debate. This is up their with many as the best. Falafel sandwiches. Cheap, and delicious.

Classy, laid-back joint just down the road, best in Amman for brunch? Probably. Open all days from morning to 6pm, and one evening (Tuesday?) for dinner. Also has cinema evenings in the garden, yoga classes, and a very dangerous shop... good for tasteful souvenir shopping.

Getting Around

I like these guys. A local company, the prices are cheaper than the big international companies, and they've always been great when I've used them.

There aren't really rainy days in Amman, but this is a nice little place to get a treatment. Great massage, pedicures, manicures... good for a spot of pampering.

Parks & Nature

Gorgeous ecolodge in the middle of nowhere! Such an amazing escape, very romantic, great hiking trails all around, star gazing on the rooftop, lit by candles, no electricity... expensive but worth it. Nearby archaeological sites of interest galore. You can leave here to take a 5 day hike to Petra. National Geographic voted it one of the top 15 in the world. I did it. They were right. But be fit! Camping. See Jordan Trail website for more details.

It's magical. Contact Abdullah Zelabia (I can share his contact details) and go wild camping, star gazing and hiking... and Abdullah is probably the best climber in Wadi Rum today, so look no further if you're wanting to get on some rock. Climb Jabal Umm Dami, the highest mountain in Jordan, or find the Bridge of Burdah... both amazing hikes and easy to do in one day. To top it off, wake up early and sail above it all in a hot air balloon... http://www.rascj.com/hot-air-balloon

Sightseeing

Worth going to Beit Al Baraka in Umm Qais for a night or two if you're exploring Jordan. Umm Qais is a beautiful place, ancient remains, overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Beit al Baraka is ecotourism at its best. I go there to escape, hike, relax, explore. The staff at Beit al Baraka can throw you some treats, thermal baths that not many people know about, and the tunnels of Umm Qais... go explore!
