Longest Urban rapids course in the world! Class 5 rapids at high water... low water trips in the AM are a bit more low-key, FYI. They also run 2 zip lines that go over the Chattahoochee River- from GA to AL & back!

Beautiful hiking trails, campsites, & nearby 'Little White House' in Warm Springs where FDR would come for treatments. Nearby Callaway Gardens has fantastic bike trails & a butterfly center. There are a few little restaurants that are great- Rose Hill Cottage, & a country cabin at Callaway that serves old school country cooking.

walking, biking, people watching- the river walk is great fun. You can access it just across the street from the house... walk westward on 6th Street, cross Broadway toward Front Ave. there is a ramp & some stairs by the gazebo & amphitheater that lead down to the main River Walk. It goes from downtown Columbus all the way to Fort Benning. If you walk up toward downtown, there is a footbridge to the little 'kayak island' that is very fun to watch the rafts & kayaks be put through the paces at the 2 biggest rapids on the course.
