There are tour buses bringing you through this immense expanse of the National Park, which is 54,000 ha big and full of birds and lynx and deer. We live at the edge and there are lovely walks through pine forests nearby.

Arts & Culture
El Rocio is a quite unique place where the horse rules. Streets are pure sand and everybody meets on horse back. This is also the place of the annual prilgrimage to the shrine of the Virgin of El Rocio, La Paloma Blanca. Near 1 million visitors with horse and carriage arrive at Pentecost. During midweek the town is deserted and springs to life at the weekends. There are plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and guitar playing at night.

Getting Around
There is no train station in Almonte, but buses go to Sevilla, Huelva and the beach in Matalascanas or Mazagon. From Huelva its not far to Portugal.
