"Come visit our farm store in Sherwood where you will find fresh organic produce from the farm, beer, wine & kombucha on tap, grab and go, or stay a while foods made in our farm kitchen as well as eggs, dairy, meat, grains, seafood, coffee, health, and wellness products." They have a deli and baked goods. The store highlights Oregon-grown products such as hazelnuts, olive oil, wine, beer, meats, cheeses, vegetables. So if you want to cook dinner and need ingredients this is a great place to shop. On Friday nights they have Happy Hour which is a fun weekly event and good dinner option. A menu is created just for the event by the resident chef. Closed Mondays.

My favorite coffee roaster in the world! Located in Newberg a town just west of Sherwood. Their Peruvian Femino roast is out of this world. This is a destination for coffee lovers and exemplifies what Portland is famous for. Just a 15 minute drive from Teaspoon Suite. View the roasting room and enjoy the tasting room. Limited seating during the rainy season, but a pleasant outdoor patio for when the weather is fair. On Fridays Caravan hosts free cuppings: 9:30-10AM "We invite you to gather with us to cup two coffees side by side. We will explore the fragrance, aroma, acidity, body and tasting profiles of each cup." Certified Fair-Trade , Organic, Mon-Thurs: 7 AM – 5 PM Friday 7-3 Sat 9-3, closed Sundays

A half-hour drive from Sherwood. Both a store, bakery and restaurant and worth visiting if you are a fan of Bob's Red Mill. The restaurant is great for breakfast or lunch and offers plenty of delicious goodies for everyone including a selection of gluten-free items. I like stopping by to pick up gf cookies, and breads from the bakery. Last time I was in I saw Bob himself! I have so much respect for this man who gave his company to his employees on his 81st birthday. Employee owned and local, with a global reach. If you love gardens as I do this is a must-see. It's so calming to wander the paths of this peaceful pint-sized Portland garden. How they fit a large reflection pool, waterfall, teahouse and much more in this one-city-block-sized garden is amazing. My favorite time to visit is in January/February during Chinese New Year when there are red lanterns hung throughout the garden. Lion dances are a popular aspect to each New Year celebration. Free tours daily. And, definitely, budget in time for tea in the gorgeous teahouse! During a visit to Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Teahouse in the Tower of Cosmic Reflections offers visitors the ability to sit, relax, and enjoy tea while gazing into the garden.

One of Portland's best tea houses. This is such a cute tea house! The entrance is like something out of a Harry Potter film. Enter through a red caboose. The room expands. For over a decade, Tea Chai Té has been a joyful staple for Portland area tea drinkers and visitors alike. We're the folks frequently spotted on multiple seasons of Portlandia. And, if you mention you visited a wonderful tea shop in the Portland area, your friends are likely to respond with, "Oh, are they the ones in the caboose?"

As an east-coaster who had access to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other places with vast art collections it's the one thing I miss. However, the Portland Art Museum helps to quench that need to connect with art from around the globe. Be sure to see their wall of glass art, Pacific NW native art and Impressionists collection. My family enjoys Fridays at the Museum the best when admission is free after 5PM and there are activities and sometimes live music. It's also home to the NW Film Center and annual Portland International Film Festival. Closed Mondays, open 10-5 every other day.

Right in Sherwood! Early Risers: this is one of the area's best bird watching spots. Great for photographers! Check the daily sightings list in the Visitors Center. We've seen so many bird species there it'd be impossible to list them all! The Refuge has also become a place where people can experience and learn about wildlife and the places they call home, whether through self-guide discovery or by participating in one of our many educational programs."

Indoor SkyDiving. "rrive at iFLY Portland, and get started by putting on your gear and going through a specialized training session from an expert flight instructor. You’ll learn how to safely float in an 800-horsepower vertical wind tunnel that generates a wall-to-wall cushion of air - commonly used by professional skydivers - without having to jump from a plane. Just about anyone can fly, and no experience is necessary. Once you're inside the enclosed space of the flight chamber, a tunnel operator slowly increases the wind speed until you and your instructor are airborne. To really see Portland, start here. From the vantage point on the hill you will get a real feel for Portland. It is free, and during June-August full of blooms of every color. The Romanesque amphitheater is a great place to bring a picnic. We suggest stopping at Elephant's Deli just a few minutes from there in NW Portland to pick up a gormet picnic. The Rose Garden is literally next door to the Japanese Garden if you wish to combine both in one trip. Special Information Garden hours: 7:30am-9:00pm FREE public tours are offered daily at 1:00pm, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Meet at the Rose Garden store 10 minutes prior.
