Beautiful gardens - if you’ve never been here, it’s worth the price of admission. In the summer they have a bandstand with live music and fireworks on Saturday nights (pack or order a picnic for a fun date night). In the winter they light the place up for Christmas and it is simply magical.

In the summer they have a bandstand with live music and fireworks on Saturday nights (pack or order a picnic for a fun date night). In the winter they light the place up for Christmas and it is simply magical.
If you have never been whale watching, Sidney is a great place to do it from. Loads of fun. Very occasionally we see orcas from the property (eight times in the past 22 months) so if you don’t like those odds go for the whale watching tour! :-)

Take a kayaking tour or a lesson, or just rent a kayak and explore on your own. Kayaking is truly the best way to be out on the water for a real West Coast experience. They have Stand Up Paddle Boards too.

Add to that vineyards, breweries, goat cheese, lavender farm and a super cute village centre. Best done with a car for a day trip but also a lovely cycling trip if you have really strong legs. There is a local bus systems, check ahead for schedules.

Why would you need to go anywhere when you can be in nature right here? Walk in either direction on the beach (just watch you don't get stuck at high tide - you might have to walk back on the road and it's not nearly as pretty!)

Cycle north through Sidney to both ferry terminals, or south to Mitchell’s farm market, Mattick’s market (shopping, restaurants, ice cream farm market,) Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary, Blenkinsop Lake Trestle and all the way into downtown Victoria. It's about 1- 1/2 hours gentle ride on dedicated bike path with a few quiet street stretches. A fabulous day’s outing with very few hills.
