Large place with a lot of excellent live music. I would go there for the music but not the food. They also have fun bar games that I highly recommend, they are quite fun.

This is a fun place to go with excellent food and excellent staff! They offer a large selection of local craft beers too. They have activities every night including live music, bar games, Open Mic night, Karoake, Corn Hole, you name it! Check them out.

This is my favorite place for a large, varied menu and awesome comfort food. Great salads! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service is exceptional. You can't go wrong eating here as there is something on the menu for everyone.

Known for its Shrimp and Grits, this is a great place for an intimate dinner with good food and good service! On Fridays and Saturday they offer outdoor seating in the street, as many downtown New Bern restaurants are starting to do. They also have an upstairs room for large groups and meetings.

This restaurant offers great food and is located right at the water's edge of the Neuse River. Open-air seating on the dock is shady and roomy. On Sundays, they offer live music on the dock. If you have a boat you can dock right there. This is one of my favorite places to go and my favorite item is the fish tacos, grilled. You must ask to have them grilled otherwise they are battered and fried. They are the bomb! They also make very exotic cocktails that vary, and an excellent wine list. Make reservations!

Try it you'll like it!
Best burgers in town and the BEST onion rings ever! They are also a local brewery and their beer is not half bad. Usually they are always super crowded but right now during COVID it's easy to get in. Cool place and nice staff. Side note, stick to the burgers.

Wide selection of seafood in a casual atmosphere. They get pretty busy so I would call ahead for reservations. I'm not into oysters so I can't rate them for you! But others seem to like it there.

Casual place with excellent prices and good food. They have some great breakfast items and I recommend you try them for that! They have a separate room upstairs good for large groups.

This traditional Outback Steakhouse still offers great steaks and good service. You probably already know the menu! They are conveniently located just across the Trent River from downtown New Bern.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in New Bern. It is not in the downtown area, it is located right next to Walmart but don't let that stop you. It has a nice cozy Japanese ambiance and a good menu and service. They do not serve alcohol, so go to Walmart first to buy your own Sake or Asahi. It's hard to find good sushi in New Bern but this is probably the best you'll get.

There's always a wait and once you're seated you will wait FOREVER for your food. Try Capt. Ratty's for breakfast instead.

Prohibition has a full menu of food unless they've changed things lately. They have an outdoor patio with outdoor bar, which I prefer to seating inside which is quite noisy. Tuesdays they have Taco night. Well-priced local hangout.
